Mr. Johnny Charles Howze, 70, of Corsicana passed away on August 2, 2016 in Temple, TX. He was born on February 8, 1946 in Waco, TX to Claude Leonard and Clyde Francis Howze.
Mr. Howze was a private individual who enjoyed his coffee, fishing, and the small things in life. Although he was often direct in his approach, he was very likeable to those who knew him. He was proud that with hard work, determination, and help from his AA group, he was able to able to remain sober for over 40 years. He cared for and loved his family, friends, and his cats. He served his country in the United States Army and dedicated over 40 years to the Old Mexican Inn Restaurant whom he considered as family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Clyde Howze; and sisters; Leona Carolyn Chandler and Yvonne Richotte.
He is survived by his sons; JC Howze and wife Regan of Corsicana, and Taylor Howze of Denton; step-sons; Wyndell Gore and wife Shea of Corsicana, and Elmo Gore and wife Dana and their 3 children of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; brother, Bud Howze of Phoenix, Arizona; nieces, Jody Stahr Moeller and husband Mark, Missy Stahr Bealle and husband Bruce, and Rhonda Chandler; and nephews, David Neil Chandler and William Keith Chandler.
Cremation will be under the direction of Corley Funeral Home.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Country Meadows Nursing Home, the Staff at Old Mexican Inn and the Flores Family who cared for Mr. Howze.
