Obituary for Madelle Rae Dunlap (Rouse)

Mrs. Madelle Rouse Dunlap, 93, of Temple, Texas died on Thursday, February 16, 2017 in Temple. She was born on October 10, 1923 in Winkler, Texas.
She was a faithful member of the Northside Church of Christ in Temple for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt Col (Ret USAF) Elmer Norwood Dunlap, Sr. in 1996; and by a son, Shannon Lewis Dunlap in 2009.
She is survived by family members, Claudia Abbe of Levelland, Elmer Dunlap, Jr. of Aguadilla Puerto Rico, Colleen Pittman of Magnolia, Patricia Stengel and Bonnie Thornton both of Temple; five grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the St. Elmo Cemetery off of FM 416 in the Winkler community.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Cherokee Children’s Home, 13355 TX-16, Cherokee, Texas 76832. This is a passion of hers and she would appreciate that the children’s orphan home there are continually being supported.
