Obituary for Lillian Robbie Wheelock (Lambert)

Lillian Robbie Wheelock (Lambert)
Mrs. Lillian Lambert Wheelock, 67, of Mason, Texas went to her Heavenly home to meet her creator and to be reunited with her one true love, Tad, on Saturday, September 2, 2017 after a brief stay at the Seasons Hospice unit at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas.
Lillian was born on January 1, 1950 in St. Petersburg, Florida to her beloved mother Robbie Love Lambert and her father John Wallace Lambert. Lillian’s childhood was spent traveling all over and seeing the world with her parents and siblings and spending many summers in Texas. Being at the ocean was one of her favorite past times, and one that she shared with her family all throughout her life.
Lillian had an amazing love of horses that started at a young age. She would later go on to love rodeos and all that it entailed. Many of her most treasured friends were made in the wonderful world of rodeo.
Lillian loved all beautiful things and had an amazing eye for fashion. She clearly sparkled from within, and even won the Miss Corsicana Pageant as a teenager. Her smile was absolutely contagious and will never be forgotten.
Any one that has had the privilege of knowing Lillian, knows that she lived life in a very big way. Not just on certain days, but every day. She lived life freely like many of us only dream of. She loved to take care of people and make sure no one ever had to go without. Whether it was Blair’s friends in school or family, she always made sure that everyone had what they needed.
She was an amazing cook and if you never got to try anything she cooked, you missed out. There is no doubt that her culinary skills will be used in Heaven.
Lillian loved her Heavenly Father and she expressed that love to her friends and family in the same grand way she approached each aspect of her life. Her faith was evident in her generous spirit. She was a giver. Her love for our Lord grew and became such a part of her. She was not shy about asking people if Jesus was a part of their lives. She never looked at a mountain range or the moon in the sky without standing in awe of our Creator and wishing her Lana could see it right at that moment. As a family, we have peace knowing that our Lillian is with her Heavenly Father enjoying paradise with Tad and her beloved family she has rejoined. Luke 23:43, Jesus answered him, "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.”
Next to her family, she loved far too many to name, but you know in your heart who you are. She cherished her relationships with each of you and we shall miss the stories that she shared with us, as you were such a special part of her life, and she treasured those memories.
Our precious Lillian was preceded in death just a few short weeks ago by her husband, John N. “Tad” Wheelock, III on August 14, 2017, and also by her parents, John and Robbie Lambert.
She is survived by her treasured and only son, Blair Carroll and her beloved grandson, Luke Harrison Carroll of Austin; step-sons, John N. Wheelock, IV and wife Camille and Mark Wheelock and wife Brenda; step-daughter, Brooke W. Gunder and husband Robert; fifteen more precious grandchildren, Galina Wheelock, Tatiana Wheelock, Macey Wheelock, Clay Wheelock, Aubrey Wheelock, Colt Wheelock, Troupe Wheelock, Will Wheelock, Ella Wheelock, Weston Wheelock, Brooke Wheelock, Truman Wheelock, Ireland Gunder, Emory Gunder, and Kaelyn Gunder; her soul sister through life, Lana Johnson Rickner; biological sisters, Stasia Love Sparkman and Elizabeth Carroll; brother, Johnny Lambert; treasured mother-in-law, Marian Bragg Wheelock; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She shall never cease to be missed. No one can ever take her place or ever fill her shoes.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dave Benefield officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
Condolences may be sent to: Blair Carroll, 1400 West 6th Street, Austin, TX 78703, donations in honor of Lillian’s love of children may be made to the Hope for Orphans Ministry, 171 Cypress Springs Drive, Driftwood, TX 78619 or made online at hopefororphans.org.
She was passionate about this ministry. Lillian was one of the most generous and giving hearts we all have ever known. She seldom said no to anyone that needed help. It was her nature to give to the living and children captivated her heart.
Lillian leaves an amazing legacy for her family. May we all take the love that Lillian has shared with each one of us and pass it on for the rest of our days here on earth.
