Karen Leynette Bowie, age 64, of Corsicana, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018 in McDonough, Georgia. Karen was born in Corsicana to William and Lavern Griffin on Dec. 6 1953. She graduated High School in Corsicana and received her nursing degree from Navarro College. She worked for many years as a nurse while raising her family. Family and friends were the most important things in her life. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Karen battled cancer for almost two years in her son Jeff's home in Mcdonough, Georgia alongside her family. Her last words were "I love you".

Karen is survived by her mother LaVern Griffin, her children Scott Farmer, Jeff and Jenny Durr, and Joshua Bowie; her brother Ronnie Griffin; her seven grandchildren Ella Farmer, Ian Farmer, Eryn Durr, Ryan Durr, Addyson Durr, Erin Lau, and Mattox Lau.

The family will be holding a Memorial Service to celebrate her life at Corleys Funeral Home on Saturday, January 27th at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to your local Breast Cancer Charity.
